Purpose of the I-15 Feasibility Study
The I-15 Feasibility Study area covers land within approximately one mile of the I-15 corridor, extending from the Nevada–California stateline to the I-15/Sloan interchange. The study was initiated to identify opportunities to improve the corridor and address the current and future needs of southern Clark County and the surrounding region.
These needs include:
Potential development of approximately 48,000 acres between Sloan and Primm
Limited redundancy in the transportation network, which can affect incident management and emergency response
Planned addition of Brightline West within the I-15 right-of-way
Development of the Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport (SNSA), with a potential initial opening in 2037
Together, these projects and planning efforts will shape how the corridor grows, how people travel, and how land is used in the region. The study will guide how future travel needs are addressed, safety improvements, and the identification of solutions to enhance mobility in the region.
